Clay has over 20 years of brand design and marketing experience working in both corporate and startups. Having the opportunity to build a business from the ground up is a dream come true. Being able to do what you love is something to hold dear. Clay doesn’t take for granted the privilege and responsibility to provide the best services, support, and help for gyms. Behind any successful business there needs to be a creative, technical “geek,” and Clay is that guy.
Clay loves learning about new digital marketing/design trends, anything Apple, mountain biking, snowboarding, and of course, CrossFit. He has his CrossFit Level 1 Certification. Matt Scanlon | Leadership Team
Matt owns and operates CrossFit Memorial Hill in Kansas City, Missouri. Prior to opening his affiliate in 2012 Matt worked in healthcare management, developing one of the first public/private long-term healthcare initiatives in state history. It was through this experience coupled with his wife, Maggie’s, extensive athletic training background that pushed them to open their gym.
As a business coach, Matt thrives in helping other gym owners reach their potential. He loves hearing gym owners tell their story & helping them share that story with others. “I love our community. I love being around other like-minded gym owners working together to bake a bigger pie.”

Julie Weldon | Leadership Team
Julie’s diverse background includes being a cake designer, coaching basketball, traveling to 13 different developing countries to do volunteer work on a year long trip, working in the not-for-profit world for 10 years, starting two businesses, working as a People & Change consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, taking a product to market (and “failing”, only to get back up and do it a second time), and working as a business coach/consultant to small businesses. In her consulting experience, she has had the opportunity to work with large companies such as CocaCola, ADT, Travelers Insurance, Duke Energy, and Lance, as well as small Mom & Pop type family-run organizations. Her take-away was that it’s always about the people no matter if the company is large or small.
Julie has found home in beautiful Charleston, SC. She gets super fired up when helping individuals and small businesses take their success to the next level, and when she gets to hear people’s stories. Vanessa Biernat | Client Strategist
Prior to jumping on board with 321GoProject, Vanessa was in the corporate world for several years after graduating college. She was a collegiate soccer player and loves staying active with softball and golf with her husband Brandon during the summer. She loves to travel and develop her Spanish language, in which one of her degrees were in, and spent some time living in Nicaragua to enhance her fluidity.
Vanessa also has her L1 and is a coach at a local affiliate. She has such a passion for helping others live a healthier life style. “I love watching athletes retest baseline WODs especially, so they can SEE how much they’ve improved after focusing on their training. All the members in my community are my family, I only want to see them succeed.”
In her free time she loves watching Minnesota sports and hanging out with her family and little rescue pooch Quinny. Dane Gifford | Momentum Client Strategist
Dane and his beautiful wife Stephanie live in Charleston, SC with their dog Tilly and cat Rita.
In his free time, Dane loves camping with family and friends. He is a Air Force veteran and spent 12 years, 5 years with Boeing, in the aviation industry before making the leap into a full time career of health and wellness.
Dane has his CF-L2, has been coaching since 2009 and has performed almost every duty associated with running a gym. He continues to coach and currently works as a Physical Therapist Assistant for Made 2 Move Physical Therapy which specializes in the treatment and performance of Crossfit athletes.

Stefan Cox | Brand Strategist
Stefan Cox is owner of CrossFit Turbine in Carol Stream, IL. He, along with his partners, opened Turbine in August 2014 and have continued to expand the business ever since.
Stefan has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Prior to opening CrossFit Turbine, he was a founder of an online social networking site for the fitness community. He began his career, however, in the financial services industry with Merrill Lynch, eventually moving on to work for Lincoln Financial where he spent a combined 8 years. He also spent 4 years in the world of politics as a lobbyist representing multiple healthcare associations and the Virginia Association of Realtors in the state legislature of Virginia.

Lindsey Johnson | Business Coach
Lindsey has a variety of experiences in the CrossFit Industry including a position as the General Manager of Invictus Fitness in San Diego, Reebok CrossFit ONE in Canton, MA, where she worked as the Director of Operations and coach at Reebok World Headquarters. Most recently she worked in Philadelphia as the Director of Customer Advocacy for Wodify.
She has enjoyed many diverse experiences within the CrossFit community including international travel to assist in training coaches and developing the community overseas. She has vast experience in managing and leading large groups as well as youth programs. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education in 2005, Lindsey found CrossFit while working as a trainer in San Diego. She immediately fell in love with the program due to the undeniable results and great community. In her words, “I could get a better workout in less time… and I enjoy doing it!” Lindsey has also competed in the CrossFit Regional Qualifiers as a member of a team from 2009-2014.

Ashley Bacsu | Business Coach
Ashley owns and operates CrossFit 317 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to opening her affiliate in 2012, Ashley finished up her Master’s of Sport Science at Indiana University then transitioned to Northwestern University to complete an internship in Prosthetics, which is the field her family’s business has been in since 1956. It was through her strength and conditioning experience combined with the family entrepreneurial experience that pushed her to open CrossFit 317.

Jamie Gallagher | Business Coach
Jamie owns and leads CrossFit Burke in Fairfax County Virginia. Jamie was introduced to CrossFit in 2006 while training with as a 2nd Lt. at The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia. The training efficacy and results convinced him to train the platoon he commanded in the CrossFit methodology. In January 2008, Jamie received his Level 1 certification from Greg Glassman and Dave Castro. Jamie’s next duty station was informative to his future career as a CrossFit gym owner. He developed and trained Marines and civilians during the noon CrossFit class he started. This experience allowed him to train athletes of all ability levels while maintaining fun, challenging environment for all. Jamie left the Marine Corps in 2011 and started his journey as a CrossFit coach and personal trainer. Jamie opened CrossFit Burke in December 2013.
As a business coach, Jamie embraces the story and challenges every gym owner faces. Molly Kieland | Business Coach
Molly is the owner of FUELhouse in Seattle, WA. Starting out as a PT assist for the Head Athletic Trainer of the Seattle Seahawks, Molly quickly learned she wanted to be on the side of helping people feel better. In 2000 she became a personal trainer and worked her way into various roles in the fitness industry as Membership Director and General Manager. After getting her CrossFit L1 in 2005, she has since discovered a deep love for Kettlebells and now is a StrongFirst L2 KB Instructor/Assist. After working for various gym owners she realized she could do it better…starting with cultivating a strong community of like-minded humans. Voila, she opened FUELhouse in 2015!
Molly became a HUB member at the beginning of 2017, quickly joined an M3 group and credits so much of her growth and success to her 321 family.
